Weekend Read 13 August 2022
I need to say thank you once again for each of your emails sent last weekend and it now appears that we are in the middle of an epic uprising, as we go into battle together, making a stand for all we believe in. I think it is really important that we are able to come together to discuss the ongoing issues that are affecting so many of us. We don’t always have the answers, but at the very least we talk openly and honestly about the things that hurt us, about the betrayal so many of us feel and about injustice which, alongside hypocrisy, just doesn’t sit well with any of us. And then there is friendship.
Friendship is a theme that has run through so many of your emails, and having experienced what most of you are saying, we need to talk about this. There is something seriously wrong with people. I must have written those words hundreds of times over the past two or three weeks to so many of you in personal emails, so please forgive me for writing them yet again here. The aggression and entitlement of people, which is much evidenced, is beyond acceptable, so it is important that we protect ourselves against those who seek to undermine the very core of our being. And it’s surprising how many of these people purport to be our friends.
We cannot change people, but we can uphold our own protection by excluding these people from our lives. And that is what so many of us are doing, we are downsizing friendships, not by confrontation, which can result in hurt, but by gradually lessening the contact we have with those who consistently drain our energy levels. This draining of energy often happens when we are on the receiving end of constant criticism which, in turn, appears to be the modus operandi, sub-consciously or otherwise, of those who consider themselves ‘bigger’ than us, except they are not. I’m visualising a parallel universe, created most especially for energy vampires and ‘me, me, me’ people. It will be well populated.
Through all of this, we have to try to retain a sense of humour, and as we hit the product section, I will begin with a new product which I believe will amuse you as much as it amuses me. When I first heard the name of this product, I could not stop laughing, and I have to tell you that I am still laughing, so together with Tina Gaudoin of RoadScents fame, please allow me to introduce you to KateMoth (KM) for RoadScents. KateMoth came into being after Tina wondered whether she could fragrance her clothes and wardrobes with a scent that she loved, but moths hate. If I could do it for my car, she thought, then why not for my wardrobe.
KateMoth is fragranced with a delicious combination of scents that deter moths including Bergamot, Mint, Lavender, Rosemary, Cedarwood and Thyme. Is she a Super Mothel asks Tina, well I most certainly think she is, so I invite you to hang her in your wardrobe or store her in your sweater drawer. And that’s not all, there are also KateMoth drawer liners, which are equally fabulous. Maybe KM will be ubiquitous amongst us. I think she could be. I always wanted a KateMoth wardrobe. And now I have one.
KateMoth – Moth Deterrent £11; KateMoth – Moth Deterrent Drawer Liners £18 For Six Liners; RoadScents (now back in stock)
Right, let’s do some health concerns and I will start with hair loss. I write about this often, but I do so because it is such an emotive subject and because it impacts on so many different levels, we have to offer the help and support that is so needed by so many. Research and development is, as ever, ongoing, but we still stand by our recommendation of Superior Hair, which Shabir formulated many years ago. We do tweak our supplements from time to time, but we still believe that Superior Hair is best-in-class in its genre, provided you take it as directed and you allow time, say a few months, to allow it to kick in because there are no overnight miracles here.
With that said, it is completely natural to lose hair on a daily basis and on average it is thought that we lose between 50 and 100 hairs each day. Hair loss can be exacerbated for varying reasons, which include stress and the onset of menopause. It is estimated that approximately 40% of women are affected by menopausal hair loss, but of course stress levels play a major role too. Shabir explains menopausal hair loss in his article linked below, but he also addresses the efficacy of Superior Hair, which does of course contain scientifically researched ingredients that work synergistically to support the repair of damaged hair follicles, as well as helping the healthy growth of hair.
But I’m not quite finished yet, because we believe that it is important to use topical products alongside supplementation. I am of course referring to our Fulvic Acid range of products, and as such we recommend using this targeted haircare range to help support the health of your scalp and your hair, not least because so many haircare products contain harsh chemicals, which may damage hair follicles. I wrote about Fulvic Acid Shampoo last weekend, so today I will throw the focus on Fulvic Acid Mist.
A potent treatment for hair loss and thinning hair, Fulvic Acid Mist is powered by Ioniplex, a patented complex that supports cell life and keratin function for our scalp, follicles and hair. But as many of you know, Fulvic Acid Mist is one of those multi-tasking products which can also be sprayed onto our skin and nails. All further details are outlined on the Fulvic Acid Mist product page, so as I refer you to that, please don’t stop reading as I am taking the price of Superior Hair down from £30 to £26, and not to be left out, I am reducing the price of Fulvic Acid Mist from £25 to £20.
VH Editorial: Addressing Menopausal Hair Loss; Superior Hair £26 for 90 Capsules; Fulvic Acid Mist £20 for 120 ml (offers end at midnight BST, Friday 19 August or whilst stock lasts)
Together with Shabir, I remain totally in awe of Ioniplex, which has of course been researched extensively. It is so important that we are supported by such research as it defines and upholds the efficacy and trust in the products we believe will make a positive difference. As such, I wrote about Ionicell last weekend, and today I am going to talk about Fulvic Acid Elixir. They are of course both powered by Ioniplex and essentially they are one of the same, but the choice has always been between taking a capsule or ingesting a liquid.
I think you all know that I take both Ionicell and Fulvic Acid Elixir, but there really is no need, it’s just that I am fixated with Fulvic. Both Ionicell and Fulvic Acid Elixir are next-generation skin, hair and nail formulations, so in that respect either one can be used as an adjunct to Superior Hair for extra support in nourishing hair follicles. But of course both do so much more than that, not least helping to increase metabolism within cells, creating energy. So as Shabir does the science both on the Fulvic Acid Elixir product page and on his article linked below, I am taking the price of Fulvic Acid Elixir down from £30 to £25. It’s a race to the top between Ionicell and Fulvic Acid Elixir. And I’ll let you know which one wins at the end of the year.
VH Editorial: Fulvic Acid – The Elixir Of Life; Fulvic Acid Elixir £25 for 480 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Friday 19 August or whilst stock lasts)
We’re going a bit heavy on Fulvic today, so just one more thing here and it’s all about our nails. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that both Ionicell and Fulvic Acid Elixir help to strengthen weak nails from within, and if we are talking about bestselling products, well Fulvic Acid Nail Cream remains right up there too. It is also powered with Ioniplex, the Fulvic ionic mineral, and as well as helping to strengthen nails, it will help promote nail growth and help to prevent the splitting and peeling of our nails, whilst also preventing nail cracks and ridges. Fulvic Acid Nail therefore drops in price from £12 to £10 across the weekend. I think we’re pretty safe on stock levels.
Fulvic Acid Nail Cream £10 for 30 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Sunday 14 August)
Relative to all I have written above on Fulvic, I will just share this quote from Dr Linus Pauling, the winner of two Nobel Prizes: ‘You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment, ultimately to a mineral deficiency’. Leaving it there.
As we continue to explore health concerns, I hereby announce that Shabir has written a new editorial. I am sighing because yet again this is a concern that seems to be more common in women than men. Burning Mouth Syndrome is a condition where you feel a burning or hot sensation in the mouth, but this can also be localised to the lips or tongue. It is often accompanied with a dry mouth, which in and of itself is a health concern, and/or an unpleasant taste. Some may experience numbness, but this burning sensation often increases at times of stress. Current research shows that between 0.5% and almost 10% of the population can be affected.
I am going to leave it to Shabir to give you the full lowdown, but I will just say that Shabir believes there to be a hormonal connection with Burning Mouth Syndrome, with another possible cause being the malfunctioning of the nerves which may be linked to a Vitamin B12 deficiency, which I’ve covered extensively over the past few weeks. There are various treatments to help alleviate Burning Mouth Syndrome, which include Gengigel Oral Spray, Hylamints for the treatment of dry mouth and of course B12 Elite. And with reference to Hylamints, it has its very own editorial, also linked below. Supporting with knowledge. And responsibility.
VH Editorial: Treatment For Burning Mouth Syndrome; A Natural Lubricant For Dry Mouth Symptoms; Gengigel Oral Spray £9.99 for 20 ml; Hylamints £16 for 60 Mint Lozenges; B12 Elite by Life Extension £12 for 60 Lozenges
A new supplement to tell you about. I think we are all aware of the importance of taking Vitamin C as it supports immune function, fights free radicals and of course it helps promote healthy skin. We also know that our bodies are only capable of absorbing a certain amount of Vitamin C at any given time, which is why we have been recommending Liposomal versions of Vitamin C for the longest time because they are presented in a highly absorbable form. Mostly these come in the form of sachets, which you drink, but we all have a choice in the way we ingest supplementation, so please allow me to introduce you to Vitamin C 24-Hour Liposomal Hydrogel Formula, which come in a tablet format.
This Liposomal Hydrogel Vitamin C is encased in a sunflower-derived liquid sphere that supports absorption and is further protected by a hydrogel made from Fenugreek fibres, so it remains active in your body longer than conventional Vitamin C supplementation. There are numerous benefits of taking Vitamin C in this way, but the most important benefit is that it has seven times greater absorption than standard Vitamin C and that really does matter in the efficacy stakes.
So if you want to take Vitamin C in tablet form, then I am taking the price of Vitamin C 24-Hour Liposomal Hydrogel Vitamin C down from £25 down to £22, but if you prefer to take Vitamin C in a liquid format, I will also drop the price of YourZooki’s Lipo-Shield Vitamin C down from £39.99 to £34. I’m fascinated to see which one you prefer and I will report back. I’m sitting on the fence. And perhaps Shabir has fallen off the fence. But I’m not sure which side he has landed on.
Vitamin C 24-Hour Liposomal Hydrogel Formula by Life Extension £22 for 60 Tablets; YourZooki Vitamin C £34 for 30 x 15 ml Sachets
Well, I haven’t quite finished writing about health concerns, but I can’t write about Vitamin C without mentioning Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid. This has been our bestselling beauty product over the past few years and I really don’t know if anything will ever replace it. Be that as it may, I might as well stay in line with all things Vitamin C as I take the price of Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid down from £10 to £8. Across the weekend.
Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid £8 for 30 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Sunday 14 August)
Actually, I just have one more health concern to write about today and that is Prickly Heat. The heat is most definitely on, and so all I am going to do here is refer you to Shabir’s words about this very common concern, which forms a section of a wider article about holiday health problems solved. Although several products are mentioned, I am highlighting Thyme Out because aside from alleviating the itching associated with Prickly Heat, this water-based tincture is hugely beneficial for numerous concerns, including, cuts, grazes and all types of skin rashes. Let’s drop the price of Thyme Out from £18 to £15 in celebration of another one of those amazing solution-led products.
VH Editorial: Common Holiday Health Problems Solved; Thyme Out £15 for 200 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Friday 19 August, or whilst stock lasts)
And being in the mode of dropping prices, let’s drop the price of Derma E’s Universal Cleansing Balm. Universal Cleansing Balm is a multi-tasking daily facial cleanser which, when massaged onto your face, will melt away make-up, oil and impurities. It transforms from a balm to a cleansing milk upon application, and is loaded with Camellia Oil, Rose and Rosehip Oil together with Citrus Oil, Cocoa and Shea Butter to hydrate, soften and nourish. So, with that said, Universal Cleansing Balm drops in price from £15.95 to £12.95, whilst stock lasts.
Universal Cleansing Balm by Derma E £12.95 for 100 grams
Staying with skincare, I want to keep this short and sweet because I am aware that expensive skincare is out of reach for so many. So all I really want to say here is that Temple Spa’s Truffle products have won many awards, notably Beauty Bible awards, and referring you to the product page of Trufflelixir Super Luxe Luminosity Serum for all further information, I am dropping the price of Trufflelixir down from £80 to £45 for the month of August. That’s all.
Trufflelixir Super Luxe Luminosity Serum £45 for 30 ml
As we near the end of another Weekend Read, an update. Thankfully Mrs White’s Unstung Hero is now back in stock. I am of course referring to the larger size, so with the wait list demolished, both sizes are now available. And just one more thing referring back to my words about Vitamin C. Derma E’s Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydrogel Patches can’t come close to Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid in terms of hitting the bestseller slot, but within the brand, they remain one of Derma E’s bestselling products as they instantly cool, hydrate and brighten eyes. So in one last fling, I am taking the price of these patches down from £24 to £19. Whilst stock lasts.
Mrs White’s Unstung Hero Mosquito Repellent £20 for 250 ml; Mrs White’s Unstung Hero Mosquito Repellent £15 for 100 ml; Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydrogel Patches by Derma E £19 for 60 Gel Patches
In this week’s Saturday only gift, we will be sending you a Fulvic treat. Well, we might as well follow through with my total obsession for all things Fulvic, so with every order placed for £30 and above, excluding VAT, we will automatically include either Fulvic Acid Shampoo (60 ml) or Fulvic Acid Conditioner (60 ml) with your order. As ever these gifts are computer generated and as such I am unable to specify which one you will receive. Both are brilliant anyway and just a note to say that you may well wish to use the Fulvic Acid Conditioner as a hair mask. Product details below.
Fulvic Acid Shampoo; Fulvic Acid Conditioner
The end bit. In my opening paragraphs I referred to a parallel universe, but there are many parallel universes in my mind and so I’ve decided that each of us reside on another parallel universe. And on this parallel universe we come together in friendship. A different friendship perhaps, but nonetheless a deep friendship where we can be our authentic selves and we have the courage to be vulnerable with each other. And that matters. It really does.
Wishing each of you a restful weekend.
With love
