Solgar Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P-5'-P) is the biologically active form of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and can help to improve symptoms of PMS, depression, eczema and asthma.

The utilisation of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) in the body requires the conversion of pyridoxine to its active form pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P). This conversion process is dependent upon several nutrient cofactors including zinc, magnesium and vitamin B2.

It appears that some individuals (possibly due to deficiencies of one or more these nutrients) may have problems completing this conversion which may lead to vitamin B6 deficiency symptoms. These can include PMS, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, glucose intolerance, eczema, asthma and many other symptoms.

In such situations direct supplementation with pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P) may negate this problem while the cause of the poor conversion process was established. P-5-P Complex combines pyridoxal-5-phosphate with the nutrient cofactors zinc, magnesium and vitamin B2 plus beta carotene.
