Migraines and Headaches

What are migraines?

Migraine headaches, also known as migraines, are a complex neurological condition with a wide display of symptoms. The main symptoms of migraines include painful headaches, disturbed vision, light sensitivity as well as nausea and/or vomiting.

The symptoms of migraines vary in each individual and can last for between 4 and 72 hours. Most people do not exhibit any symptoms once the migraine attack has gone.

There are two common types of migraines; migraines with an aura and migraines without an aura. People who have migraines with an aura will often experience blind spots in the field of vision, stars or sparkles, flashing lights before the eyes and other visual disturbances.

It is very difficult to distinguish between headaches and migraines but generally the headaches tend to be severe for migraine sufferers. Migraines also for many tend to be on one side of the head but not always.

Natural supplements and herbal remedies for preventing, treating and providing migraine relief include feverfew, magnesium and vitamin B2.
