Weekend Read 22 February 2025
Well, here we are and after launching Collagen Tripeptide Complex last weekend, I would like to thank you for your amazing response and for all the emails we received, which have always been so incredibly important to us. When you stand in your own truth, separating fact from marketing fiction, you are of course accountable for that truth, but it is not only accountability which matters here, it actually goes beyond accountability because in so many differing ways, this journey is as personal to us as it is to each of you.
If I stand back and take a look at this, once you know something, you cannot not know what you know, and that goes across all things in life, but referencing health and wellbeing, that statement reflects decades of research and clinical validation allowing a sharing of knowledge, which determines purpose. We are driven by that purpose, we always have been, because if we are to respect and trust those decades of research, which of course we do, it is a given and an absolute that evidenced facts will supersede, and redefine, all that has gone before.
Writing to the VH Addicts recently, I shared an African Proverb with them, and I am sharing it again here because it not only makes a statement of positioning, but it also addresses our core philosophy of purposeful intent, an ethos upheld through the decades. And so: ‘If You Want To Go Fast, Go Alone; If You Want To Go Far, Go Together’. We go together. It is a considered choice. It always has been.
Launching Collagen Tripeptide Complex last weekend was a moment, a significant moment because it supported the evolutionary advancement of a specific compound, and it also allowed an acceptance of purpose in the recognition of each and every cutting-edge formulation we release on the DoSe branding. So, with that said, I am, once again, linking Shabir’s article about Collagen Tripeptide Complex below, and for those who are not VH Addicts, I invite you to join us, not least because Collagen Tripeptide Complex drops in price from £45 to £40.50 if you are an Addict. And that’s ongoing. Link below.

And with an unswerving commitment to scientific evidence, let’s take a look at Turmeric Curcumin C3 Complex, a formulation which contains a patented extract of three of the most researched curcuminoids found in Turmeric root and these are Curcumin, Demethoxycurcumin (DMC) and Bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC). Curcumin C3 Complex is absorbed more efficiently than most Curcumin supplementation and crucially it provides Curcumin, and other curcuminoids, in a form that protects them from the digestive system, allowing these compounds to offer numerous health benefits.
The health benefits of Turmeric are primarily due to its Curcumin content and studies have evaluated that it has been found to exhibit potent anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation is a normal process that occurs when our bodies are exposed to foreign bacteria or viruses and our bodies react by transporting white blood cells and antibodies to counter these. However, excessive inflammation can lead to pain, swelling, redness and heat, and numerous health concerns such as asthma, allergies, auto-immune concerns, cell mutation, heart disease and cognitive decline are all linked to excessive inflammation in the body.
Its role in protecting cells is crucially important and, acting as an antioxidant, Curcumin inhibits damage to the cells within our bodies and it has also been shown to initiate the destruction of damaged cells, as well as inhibiting the replication of damaged cells. Numerous studies have been published in peer reviewed medical journals detailing the protective ability of Curcumin, but most specifically Curcumin C3 Complex has been the subject of numerous trials and is classified as a ‘bioprotectant’ antioxidant helping to quench damaging radicals, thus preventing excessive inflammation which is at the core of each of the above-mentioned health concerns.
Much has been written about the health benefits of Turmeric, but efficacy is totally dependent upon the clinically proven active compounds found in Turmeric and whilst there are many forms of Turmeric available, most tend to provide only Curcumin or are standardised for Curcumin alone and do not incorporate the relevant active compounds. And as I have another moment demonstrating the importance of transparent reporting, I think the best thing to do is to leave it there, drop the price of Turmeric Curcumin C3 Complex from £27 to £24 and link two relevant articles below.

Following through, ageing is a multi-faceted process and there are numerous factors to consider in that process, so let’s begin this conversation by saying that the cells of our bodies are programmed to have a finite lifespan. Each time a cell divides, some genetic material is lost, so that on average, forty to fifty cell divisions later, the cell is considered to be aged. Nutrition plays a vital role in the science of ageing, with some nutrients accelerating ageing, whilst others help to protect against it.
The theory of free radical damage and the role of antioxidant nutrients is well established and here antioxidants neutralise free radicals, which are reactive, unstable agents, to help protect the body against damage. Being a multi-faceted process, ageing is also attributable to the link between ageing and telomeres, which are DNA sequences and proteins that protect the genetic material within our chromosomes, thus ensuring that cells can divide and replicate perfectly, because imperfect replication can lead to premature ageing, cell mutation and cell death.
This subject is quite complex, but what we do know is that low levels of CoEnzyme Q10 are considered to be one of the primary reasons for ageing because this enzyme fuels every single cell in our bodies and is vital for cell division. Levels of CoQ10 decline with age and the interesting thing here is that CoQ10 recycles other antioxidants, including vitamins C and E, into their active states helping to neutralise more free radicals, thus protecting our DNA. So, as we acknowledge the far-reaching benefits of CoQ10 in its most efficacious form, Ubiquinone, I am dropping the price of Liposomal CoQ10 from £48 to £43, across the weekend.

Having written above that ageing is a multi-faceted process, I have often written that supplementation is also multi-faceted in that individual supplements offer natural solutions to various health concerns and that is certainly the case with Magnesium and Omega-3 supplementation. So, we are going to talk about period pain, which is also known as dysmenorrhoea, and dysmenorrhoea occurs when the muscles in the uterus contract or tighten strongly, most specifically on the first and second days of a period and whilst it is mild and considered normal for some women, it can be unbearable and debilitating for others.
For the sake of this discussion, we are going to take a look at primary dysmenorrhoea, but for information purposes, secondary dysmenorrhoea is when period pain is caused by an underlying condition such as fibroids or endometriosis. So, primary dysmenorrhoea occurs when natural chemicals, called prostaglandins, cause the uterus to contract in order to shed its lining. This is what causes period bleeding and when prostaglandins are high, the contractions become more intense, leading to cramping, pain and discomfort with the intensity of pain varying according to the levels of prostaglandins present.
Interestingly, there is a link between low levels of Magnesium and high levels of period pain, and several studies have indicated that taking Magnesium for two months produced a significant reduction in the severity of period pain symptoms, basically because of its muscle and nerve relaxing properties which help to reduce the intensity of cramping. Here we recommend taking one capsule of Magnesium Complex daily which provides 250 mg of several Magnesium compounds which should help the symptoms, but it will also provide other benefits including increased energy and restful sleep, a subject covered extensively on a recent newsletter.
DoSe Magnesium Complex £22 for 60 Capsules
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids which perform several important functions in the body, but in this context, studies have indicated that taking Omega-3 supplementation helps reduce period pain. In one controlled clinical study, women taking Omega-3 for three months experienced a significant reduction in period pain and were less reliant on pain relief medication and here we recommend Life & Soul Omega-3 Fish Oil Daily Capsules. If you are vegetarian or vegan, we recommend Echiomega capsules as these are far more beneficial than flaxseed or other vegetarian sources of Omega-3.

Onwards, and last weekend I wrote about three new products from Neom, so I have two more new products to add to that collection and they are limited edition offers, so they won’t be around forever. The first is their limited-edition Rose scented candle, which unsurprisingly is called ‘It’s All Rosy’, it smells like freshly picked petals and it’s blended with essential oils of Rose, Orange and Geranium. The price of this candle is £55, but I am dropping that to £49 and that too is a limited-edition offer, limited whilst stock lasts.
It’s All Rosy Three Wick Candle by Neom Wellbeing £49 for 420 grams
The It’s All Rosy Reed Diffuser is also expertly blended with Rose, Geranium and Orange and it can either be layered with the candle for an even bigger throw of scent or used as a stand-alone which will last approximately twelve weeks. This is what fuss-free scenting is all about and here the price drops from £45 to £40 and as above, it is a limited-edition offer whilst stock lasts.

Right, let’s have a bit of fun with some of Aurelia’s products, and before I begin writing about each of the five products mentioned, I need to say that these are limited-edition treats, stock levels vary and if any specific product fails to go into your basket, then that will mean the offer is over. So, in no particular order, we will begin with Aurelia’s hero product, Miracle Cleanser (30 ml) which has a value of £14.40, but drops to £9; their Brightening Eye Serum (7 ml) has a value of £24, but drops to £12 and their Brightening Anti-Pollution Mask has a value of £22, but drops to £10. Three done, two to go.
Miracle Cleanser by Aurelia London £9 for 30 ml; Brightening Eye Serum by Aurelia London £12 for 7 ml; Brightening Anti-Pollution Mask by Aurelia London £10 for 20 ml
The first of the remaining two products is their Revitalise & Glow Serum (15 ml) which has a value of £36, but drops to £15 and finally, their Refine & Polish Exfoliation Mask (20 ml) has a value of £22, but drops to £10 and with a tra-la-la, and a smile on my face, we move on.

And as we move on, we are offering a 20% discount across all the Skin Food products from Weleda and far from being a limited offer, this offer will remain in place for one month and it will end at midnight GMT, Saturday 22 March, which is all rather neat because the following weekend the clocks go forward and we head into British Summer Time, at long last. Glory hallelujah. And I’m nearly finished, but just a reminder here that Exalt Firming Neck Gel from Temple Spa has dropped in price from £46 to £34 for the month of February and that offer will end at midnight GMT, Friday 28 February.
Weleda Skin Food Products; Exalt Firming Neck Gel by Temple Spa £34 for 50 ml
Into the Saturday only treat and with every order placed for £35 or above, excluding p&p, we will automatically send you Neom Wellbeing’s Super Shower Power Body Cleanser (50 ml)* which contains moisturising oat milk, an antioxidant-rich shot of organic coffee extract, fragranced with Spearmint, Rosemary and Eucalyptus.
