Weleda Arnica Massage Balm is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing extracts of Arnica montana and Birch leaf. It is traditionally used for the relief of muscle pain, rheumatic pain, backache and minor sports injuries.
This Weleda balm is suitable for massage and can be used to help relieve muscular pain and stiffness, bruising, cramp and sprains.

Directions: Shake the bottle. Weleda Arnica Massage Balm is for application to the skin. Wash hands before and after use. Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: Apply sparingly to the affected area with gentle massage three to four times daily. Do not exceed the daily recommendation. For maximum effect apply after a warm bath or shower while the skin is still damp. You must contact a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after two weeks.
Like all medicines Weleda Arnica Massage Balm can cause side-effects although not everybody gets them. Weleda Arnica Massage Balm can cause contact dermatitis, an itchy skin rash or asthma. If your skin feels itchy, you develop a patch of dry, inflamed skin or a rash or you experience difficulty breathing you should stop using Weleda Arnica Massage Balm and consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in the package leaflet or on this page. Consult your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner if you are suffering from joint pain which is accompanied by swelling of the joint, redness or fever.
Do not use:
- Do not use if you are allergic to Arnica montana, or to other plants in the Asteraceae (Compositae) family or to any of the other ingredients
- Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes
- Do not use in children under 12 years of age
Warnings and precautions:
- If articular accompanied by swelling of joint, redness or fever are present you should consult your doctor
- If the condition worsens or if symptoms persist for more than two weeks, or if side effects occur, talk to your doctor or pharmacist
- If you experience redness, irritation or dry skin, discontinue use and consult your doctor or pharmacist
- Do not store above 25°C
- Discard 3 months after opening
- For external use only
- Do not use after the expiry date stated on the carton
- May stain clothing if used in excess
- Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children
Active ingredients: 1g of cutaneous liquid contains 520 mg of a combined liquid extract from Arnica montana L., flos, (equivalent to 24 mg Arnica flower) and Betula pendula Roth and/or Betula pubescens Ehrh., folium, as well as hybrids of both species) (equivalent to 24 mg Birch leaf). Extraction solvent: Ethanol 96% v/v / Sunflower Oil (2.3/97.7). Also contains: Sunflower Oil, Rosemary Oil, Lavender Oil, Lavandin Oil and Ethanol.
