Weekend Read 30 March 2024
Hello, it’s Easter weekend, the clocks go forward tonight and I am about to launch another new DoSe product, but before we do that, I want to convey my ongoing thanks to so many of you for your feedback over the past few weeks. As I wrote last weekend, life is too short for mediocrity, and on from that I have always believed that we must strive to be the very best that we can be, which is why listening plays such an important role in all that we are and all that we do together. It is in the listening that we learn and it is in the learning that we listen. To the narrative.
DoSe was conceived within the depths of that narrative, so as we continue the DoSe journey we revert to supplementation with the launch of DoSe Liposomal Glutathione, so let’s take a look. Glutathione is an antioxidant and it is often called ‘the master antioxidant’ as it is used by every cell in our bodies to mop up damaging free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules and in order to regain stability, these unstable molecules steal electrons from other molecules and our DNA to help prevent damage and oxidative stress, a phenomenon where there are insufficient antioxidants available to support our genetic material as well as our organs.
There are of course many nutrients which display antioxidant activity, yet Glutathione is the most powerful donor of electrons and it is made from three amino acids, Glutamic Acid, Cysteine and Glycine. Most of the body’s Glutathione is produced in the liver, but as with so many nutrients, levels of Glutathione decline with age, which is why Glutathione supplementation is recommended, but that recommendation must embrace the very best form of clinically evaluated Glutathione, adhering to the correct therapeutic dosage.
DoSe Liposomal Glutathione has been formulated with GSH, the reduced form of Glutathione, which is the very best form of Glutathione as it is the active form and is easily absorbed by the body. The problem with the majority of Glutathione supplementation is that the benefits of GSH are compromised by our stomach acids, which means that most forms of supplementation will deliver very little of this compound to our bodies, defeating objectivity and purpose.
I honestly can’t remember how many years I have been writing about Liposomal technology, a delivery system which encapsulates a compound within an oil particle, known as a liposome and it is this delivery system that ensures that Glutathione is protected from the harsh stomach acids, enabling an absorption level of up to 80% and this really matters.
What also really matters is that DoSe Liposomal Glutathione contains Setria® Glutathione, the clinically studied form of Glutathione, which is pure and safe, having an assay value of between 98% and 100%. Providing 450 mg of reduced Glutathione GSH in each serving size of 5 ml, DoSe Liposomal Glutathione is £49 for 150 ml, but I am taking that price down to £44 across this long weekend, not only to celebrate its launch, but to celebrate the efficacy of cutting-edge and pioneering products that really do make a positive difference to our health and wellbeing. As they stand out in the crowd.

So, as we launch the second DoSe Liposomal product, it follows through from DoSe Liposomal Vitamin C, which was formulated using a high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade of Vitamin C, called Quali-C™. Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a vital water soluble vitamin, which the human body cannot manufacture, but because it is water soluble, maintaining optimal levels of Vitamin C can be difficult and research has indicated that insufficient levels of Vitamin C exposes us to differing health concerns and that research also indicated that we are mostly Vitamin C deficient.
When we launched Dose Liposomal Vitamin C, I wrote that this formulation contains two forms of Vitamin C, Ascorbic Acid for immediate availability and Sodium Ascorbate, which is slowly converted throughout the day into Ascorbic Acid for availability and protection. Quali-C™ is also the world’s first branded Vitamin C, demonstrating high absorption levels, and those absorption levels play an equally important role in skin health as a Vitamin C deficiency is often characterised by skin fragility and impaired wound healing, so that is where I want to throw the focus today.
Topical Vitamin C can be problematic and I think it is important to say that the stability of Vitamin C is a concern, mostly because of exposure to heat and light. Additionally, the most effective form of Vitamin C, which is L-Ascorbic Acid, is the most unstable, so it is often balanced with the use of an antioxidant, such as Ferulic Acid, a potent plant-based antioxidant. But there is more to this story, because those of us with sensitive skin tend to react badly to L-Ascorbic Acid in topical skincare, and I’m one of those people.
DoSe C-Deep Vitamin C Serum addresses many of the above issues, essentially because it has been formulated using a fast-absorbing Vitamin C derivative, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate penetrates deeper than comparable serums, it is 100% stable and it doesn’t irritate skin, allowing those of us with sensitive skin to benefit from the attributes of Vitamin C skincare. C-Deep also contains Squalane, which helps to prevent transepidermal water loss and it also helps to lock in moisture, making it a key active for skin health.
As I continue to honour the integration of pioneering products, I am putting DoSe Liposomal Vitamin C together with DoSe C-Deep Vitamin C Serum and in so doing the price of the two products together drops from £57 to £50, although of course you can buy each as stand-alone products. And that’s a wrap.
VH Editorial: The Benefits Of Vitamin C For Skin; DoSe Liposomal Vitamin C + DoSe C-Deep Vitamin C Serum £50 (offer ends at midnight BST, Monday 1 April); DoSe Liposomal Vitamin C £35 for 240 ml; DoSe C-Deep Vitamin C Serum £22 for 30 ml
So, with the two Liposomal supplements launched with the DoSe branding, two other supplements have now received the Dose branding, namely Limitless Plus and Daily Multivitamins One-A-Day. I honestly don’t know which supplement will be next in line to receive the new branding, it’s a logistical thing, but that doesn’t stop me talking about the rest of our formulations, so I want to continue by talking about Turmeric Curcumin C3 Complex, which is an outstanding formulation.
Turmeric Curcumin C3 Complex is outstanding because it has been formulated with one of the most impressive, clinically researched curcumin extracts, namely Curcumin C3 Complex. Curcumin C3 Complex contains a patented extract of three of the most researched curcuminoids found in Turmeric root called Curcumin, Demethoxycurcumin (DMC) and Bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) and it is this patented extract that provides Curcumin and other curcuminoids in a form which protects them from the digestive system, allowing the crucial absorption of these active compounds to help reduce inflammation.
Inflammation is of course the causal factor of many age-related diseases, so as Shabir takes a look at that in his article linked below, I will also tell you that the absorption of this formulation is further increased with the addition of BioPerine®, a patented form of Peperine which supercharges the bioavailability of nutrients which, as most of you know, is also incorporated into our HA formulation. Increased efficacy, supercharged supplementation, extensive clinicals and as mediocrity gets thrown out of the window, I am dropping the price of Turmeric C3 Complex from £26 to £23, in recognition of another pioneering formulation, which we believe is best-in-class.
VH Editorial: Turmeric – The Spice With Health Benefits; Turmeric Curcumin C3 Complex £23 for 60 Capsules (Two Months Supply) (offer ends at midnight BST, Monday 1 April); Hyaluronic Acid Capsules High Strength £35 for 30 Capsules
Staying with best-in-class ingredients, it has long been established that KSM-66 Ashwagandha is the world’s finest and most scientifically studied form of Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha supports relaxation and emotional balance, so there is some news and that news is that Wild Nutrition have increased the amount of KSM-66 Ashwagandha to 600 mg per dose (two capsules), which aligns and matches the dose used in the studies of this herb. It sets the gold standard for optimal results and because we seem to be on a roll with the recognition of world-class ingredients, I am dropping the price of KSM-66 Ashwagandha Plus from £23.50 to £19 across the long weekend.
KSM-66 Ashwagandha Plus by Wild Nutrition £19 for 60 Capsules (offer ends at midnight BST, Monday 1 April)
A comment. I think that Ergothioneine Serum sets the gold standard for skin health. There is no doubt in my mind that when it comes to the VH Awards, Ergothioneine Serum will win an award. I doubt anybody else will give it an award because I’m not a conglomerate, but I don’t care about that. What I care about is that this is probably one of the most outstanding skin health ingredients to have emerged for rather a long time and regardless of skin type, if you were to buy only one skincare product this year, make it Ergothioneine Serum. In any other world, I could have put the number one in front of the twenty-six, making it £126, such is its brilliance. But I didn’t.
DoSe Ergothioneine Serum £26 for 30 ml
Right, let’s have a moment with Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies and that moment arrives as I take down the price of Chapter Six Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies from £18 to £12. Each gummy contains raw Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother in addition to other potent ingredients to help support digestion and overall wellbeing. In full transparency, I am dropping the price because we have very high stock levels of this product with an end of July expiry and I’m not sure how that happened, but it happened. And having written that, it gives you four months to digest one month’s supply, so a high level of stock may become an out of stock scenario.
Chapter Six Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies £12 for 60 Gummies (whilst stock lasts)
If you suffer from migraines, you may well have been prescribed with a group of drugs called triptans, which help to relieve the symptoms of migraines and severe headaches. Triptans are a group of drugs which bind the serotonin receptors in the brain, helping to diminish the swelling of the blood vessels in the brain, but there are side-effects with these drugs which include dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth and flushing, so it is worthwhile to take a look at a natural solution, Ginger.
Ginger has been commonly used as a digestive remedy, as an anti-inflammatory and it is well-known for its ability to help prevent travel sickness, but it is increasingly being studied and recommended for the treatment of migraines. Shabir takes a look at one such study in his article linked below, but it is clear that Ginger works effectively to help treat most types of migraines and is generally considered safe for use by most people, although it is not recommended for use if you are taking blood thinning medication or if you have gallstones. And because not all supplements are created equally, we recommend Lamberts Ginger Capsules, for strength and efficacy.

A few more things to say and let me begin by saying that the March offering from TEMPLESPA will end at midnight BST tomorrow, Sunday 31 March. As a reminder, the March offer is Exalt Firming Neck Gel which, as the name suggests, helps to firm and tone skin around the neck, and it drops in price from £46 to £34, all of which is about to lead me into another TEMPLESPA product, which I think you will love.
Exalt Firming Neck Gel by TEMPLESPA £34 for 50 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Sunday 31 March)
And the product I think you will love is TEMPLESPA’s Himalayan Salts Massage Stone, not only because I love it, but because it is an excellent massage tool which helps reduce inflammation, relieving aches, pains and swelling. It does this because Himalayan salt crystals contain up to 84 trace minerals, which have anti-inflammatory properties. It’s really easy to use too, just apply a massage oil to the stone and roll the ball over your skin, especially on areas prone to tension. It can be used at room temperature, but it can be warmed up for 60 seconds in the microwave or you can pop it into the freezer an hour before use and use it cold. It’s very tactile.

The final fling. Take one brand and offer a 20% discount on all of their products across the long weekend. That brand is Ameliorate and I have nothing further to add, other than to say that this offer will end at midnight BST, Monday 1 April. And that is that.

As we come to the end of another Weekend Read, all I really want to do here is to leave you with a song, which never fails to move me, as I wish each of you a restful weekend.
