Weekend Read 25 April 2026
Here we are, the last Saturday in April and with spring flowers in abundance, we take a look at nature and Fulvic Acid, because essentially Fulvic Acid is nature’s nutrient booster. Nature acts as both the architect and the laboratory for Fulvic Acid, a complex organic compound that is essential for life, but cannot be synthesised by humans, and it is formed when microorganisms in the soil break down decaying plant and animal matter.
A complex mixture of various organic acids, trace minerals, vitamins and amino acids, Fulvic Acid is known for its remarkable ability to help plants absorb nutrients from soil, it is the major component of humus, the organic part of soil, and unlike humic acid, it has a low molecular weight enabling it to pass through plant and animal cell membranes with ease. As a by-product of the humification process, it is the natural re-cycling of once-living matter acting as a biological catalyst and chelating agent, meaning it binds to nutrients and trace minerals converting them into a bioavailable form that plants can easily absorb.
In all of this, nature acts as the architect and the laboratory in the form of Fulvic Elixir, also acting as a biological catalyst and chelating agent, it is often referred to as ‘the elixir of life’ and it plays several vital roles in maintaining optimal health, notably increasing nutrient absorption. Essentially, Fulvic Acid mobilises food to become our medicine and as a super cell conductor, it helps regulate the balance of electrolytes, crucial for maintaining proper hydration, energy production and nerve signalling, but it also has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help protect our bodies against oxidative stress and chronic inflammation.
Fulvic Acid is so powerful, that one single Fulvic Acid molecule is capable of carrying 65 or more minerals and trace elements into our cells and it is also thought to increase oxygenation of each of the soft tissues within our bodies. Oxygenating cells is vital, it enhances energy production and it is interesting to note, if not compelling, that in 1931, Dr Otto Warburg, the Nobel Prize winner for physiology and medicine, established that oxygen deprivation was a major cause of cell mutation.
We have long believed that Fulvic Acid is the missing link in modern nutrition, missing because in the past this compound was naturally consumed from nutrient-rich produce, but intensive agricultural practices and pesticide use have significantly depleted it from our food supply, leading to decreased nutrient bioavailability. Having taken Fulvic Acid for almost two decades, I further believe that it forms the foundation for all other nutrients and upholding my stance and belief that we should all be supplementing with Fulvic Acid, when you buy Fulvic Elixir (480 ml), we will automatically include Fulvic Elixir (240 ml) which has a value of £15.

The efficacy of Fulvic Acid extends to topical applications where it acts as a potent agent for skin health, wound healing and treating inflammatory conditions. Increasingly utilised in dermatology for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, it is now receiving recognition as a natural, gentle alternative to traditional actives for improving skin texture, tone and overall barrier function. A small, randomised double-blind study published in the journal Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, determined that topical Fulvic Acid significantly improved eczema symptoms, including severity.
As previously mentioned, Fulvic Acid has an incredibly small molecular weight, which allows it to penetrate deeply, but it also contains a whole cocktail of phenolic acids, trace minerals, amino acids and small peptides, and these antioxidant-rich micronutrients help speed up skin healing and repair, but they also fortify our skin’s natural defences against oxidative stress, oxidative stress being a major culprit behind barrier damage, pigmentation, collagen breakdown and the premature ageing of skin.
Because Fulvic is a ‘transporter’ molecule, it can actually help other ingredients to absorb better, which makes me rather happy because I have long advocated dosing cutting-edge serums, such as Ergothioneine Serum and Multi Peptide Anti-Ageing Serum, into Fulvic Face Cream. Creating a synergistic effect, Fulvic Face Cream essentially acts as a molecular vehicle, pulling cutting-edge compounds deeper into the dermis where they can actually do their work. Such is the importance and efficacy of Fulvic Acid for optimal skin health, when you buy Fulvic Face Cream (60 ml), we will automatically include Fulvic Face Cream (30 ml) which also has a value of £15.

I really can’t write about Fulvic Acid without writing about Fulvic Shampoo, Fulvic Conditioner and Fulvic Mist, all of which feature the patented ionic compound, Ioniplex®. Formulated to address hair thinning, shedding and scalp health, this is where over 65 minerals and trace elements are delivered directly to the follicles working to calm micro inflammation and enhancing keratin production. Acting as a nutrient delivery system and a chelator, it allows the scalp to absorb these minerals, effectively feeding the follicles while detoxifying them from heavy metals and product build-up, which is tremendously common.
Fulvic Shampoo, Fulvic Conditioner and Fulvic Mist are often used together as a trio for maximum effectiveness, where the shampoo cleanses, the conditioner repairs and the mist provides continuous, leave-in nourishment and, in studies, Ioniplex® showed a 14% increase in hair thickness within six weeks. When writing about clinical studies, I will often caveat my reporting by saying that we are each different and in the circumstance of hair loss there are many variables to be taken into consideration, including genetics, stress levels, nutrition and hormonal health.
Hair loss is recognised as a profound emotional and psychological experience and is deeply intertwined with self-esteem, identity and personal confidence, so we go gently and we do that with the understanding that there are no overnight solutions for hair loss. Hair growth cycles are naturally slow and it can take up to six months to see a visible change. Notwithstanding that, each of the Fulvic haircare products will help restore the foundational health of the scalp and the natural growth cycle given time, so no sensational claims here, just an acknowledgement of a tremendously common concern together with a 15% discount across each of the Fulvic haircare products.

Staying on subject, Superior Hair is our bestselling supplement for hair loss and with the single biggest cause of hair loss being an imbalance of the female hormones, leading to male hormone dominance, Superior Hair has been formulated with a combination of well researched vitamins that help to support hair strength and follicle growth. For many women, hair loss can be exacerbated with the onset of perimenopause and menopause and research has indicated that almost 40% of women are affected.
For ease, I am linking Shabir’s article below where he discusses the causes of menopausal hair loss in depth, but the article is also relevant outside of menopausal hair loss, notably because certain medications can also cause hair loss, including contraceptive pills, anticoagulants and some antidepressants. So, as I leave you to read why compounds such as Saw Palmetto Extract, MSM, Proanthocyanidins and Plant Sterols are included in this formulation, I will end this section by dropping the price of Superior Hair from £33 to £28.

Moving on, I have written many words about Liposomal Vitamin C recently, but it plays an important, if not vital, role as a powerful antihistamine and anti-inflammatory nutrient for Histamine Intolerance (HIT). HIT can best be described as a condition when the body is unable to eliminate histamine from food and drink, leading to gastrointestinal and allergy-like symptoms.
Histamine is a natural chemical produced by the body and works to transmit messages between the body and the brain and it plays an important role in digestion by triggering the release of stomach acid, as well as influencing the immune system. We need a certain amount of histamine, but excess histamine can cause problems and an example of this is when we eat foods high in histamine, which Shabir lists in his article, linked below, but include aubergines, avocados, smoked meat, dairy products and shellfish.
Histamine levels are kept to within finite levels by the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) and given that DAO is an enzyme that breaks down histamine, it follows that any nutrient that enhances DAO will be beneficial, thus Liposomal Vitamin C. When vitamin C levels decrease, histamine levels increase and the role of vitamin C is to produce the histamine degrading enzyme DAO. Liposomal Vitamin C is recommended because most other forms of vitamin C do not enter the bloodstream in sufficient amounts to make a significant difference, and in making that difference Liposomal Vitamin C drops in price from £35 to £30.

Returning to skincare, a few words about Multi-Peptide Anti-Ageing Serum, which I have referenced above as an example of a cutting-edge serum, a cutting-edge serum which is enriched with Watercress Extract (Nasturtium officinale). This mineral rich extract works to reduce the tension of the facial muscles and the secretion of stress mediators which help to smooth expression lines in young skin and blur the lines of mature skin. As a potent multi-peptide serum, the extensively researched multi-peptide technologies help to enhance collagen synthesis, given time.
As suggested above, you can dose this into Fulvic Face Cream, but it can also be used as a stand-alone serum, yet in all of this I really want to reiterate that there are no overnight fixes with natural compounds, the key is consistency. I have always believed in playing the long game for optimal skin health and although we can often see small, daily improvements, it really is consistency which eventually leads to lasting results, ensuring sustainable skin health rather than a quick, temporary fix. So, as we respect the skin renewal cycle, which can take between twenty-eight and forty days, the price of Multi-Peptide Anti-Ageing Serum drops from £26 to £23.
DoSe Multi-Peptide Anti-Ageing Serum £23 for 30 ml (offer ends at midnight BST, Monday 27 April)
Let’s talk about 4711 Eau de Cologne. Created at the beginning of the 18th Century, 4711 is one of the world’s most iconic fragrances and small enough to be slipped into a pocket, the 4711 Watch Bottle carries the story, as well as the scent of 4711 Eau de Cologne. Containing essential oils from citrus fruits, Rosemary and Lavender, it is a nostalgic fragrance, a fragrance that whispers nostalgia to so many of us.
Beyond the original fragrance, the brand has expanded into modern lines, one of which is Floral Rose Eau de Cologne. This light, floral fragrance has been created with Mandarin, Green Tea and Bergamot, yet at the heart of the bouquet, the delicate fruity aroma of the Rose is enveloped by a touch of Freesia and Violet. Nestling between soft Musk and Sandalwood, the fragrance leaves a delicate, gentle aura, which is quite beautiful. To celebrate that beauty, if you buy any of the 4711 fragrances, we will automatically include the 4711 Eau de Cologne Tissue Wipes, a pack of ten refreshing tissues infused with the signature scent of 4711. And that’s for the interim.

Finally, after writing about Floral Rose Eau de Cologne and on the subject of flowers, Supermarket Flowers is a song written by Ed Sheeran as a tribute to his grandmother, Anne. A poignant, yet beautiful tribute, many of us can relate to the words of this song, and as I leave you to listen to those words, I want to thank each of you for your ongoing loyalty and support. Wishing you a restful weekend.
