Weekend Read 24 January 2026
Rolling through January, I welcome you to another Weekend Read and before anything else, I want to thank you for your response and support last weekend as we celebrated all things Fulvic together. In many ways, Fulvic demonstrates the acknowledgement of the outstanding compounds that have been the subject of extensive research and it is that extensive research which allows us to share our commitment to the cutting-edge and pioneering products which really do make a difference to our health and wellbeing.
I have often written about the warmth of sharing, but when that sharing embraces the products that can change our lives, and so many of them do, that sharing is on another level, elevating purpose and reward. And the reward really is in the sharing and using Superior Joints as an example here, mostly because I wrote about it last weekend, I absolutely know that it supersedes all else in its genre and with that genre being joint health, efficacy is paramount.

All of which leads me to NAD+ Generator, because staying ahead of the curve allows us to further demonstrate the importance of challenging the status quo, basically because the status quo really does need to be challenged. I have a thing about mediocrity, it disturbs me, but what also disturbs me is the incessant marketing of mediocrity, because it is appalling, if not misleading and confusing. So, some straight talking here.
Across the recent past, the focus on longevity has been such that it is verging on the ridiculous, the claims are ridiculous, the marketing is ridiculous and in all of this there is much confusion, understandably. Strip it all back, and longevity translates into healthy ageing, it’s as simple as that and healthy ageing is our raison d'être, it always has been.
I have written many words about NAD+ Generator, but at the beginning of the year, Sarah Stacey decided to make it her mission to discover all about NAD, which is often called the age defying supplement. In many ways her findings could be considered as the ultimate guide to NAD because she wanted to understand the ongoing hype, but she also wanted to know whether it actually works because by her own admission, she has never really understood what NAD is and what it does.
As many of you know, Sarah is a seasoned journalist, she was the Health Editor of YOU magazine back in the day (those were the days) and she is the co-founder of the College of Medicine Beyond Pills Campaign which launched in June 2022 in direct response to the Government’s National Overprescribing Review. Sarah’s research is, and always has been, meticulous and she has declared herself ‘in’ with NAD. Sarah is in, I am in and Shabir is in, and with an invitation to join in too, Sarah’s report is linked below and with every NAD+ Generator bought, we will automatically send you NAD+ Generator (15 capsules) free, which is worth £16.

On the subject of ageing, the loss of hearing due to ageing is a very common disorder and, in some cases, it can also lead to tinnitus. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to be important for the health of the body, but interestingly several studies over the past decade have conclusively determined that the consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids, help reduce hearing loss in an ageing population.
A study in Australia, called The Blue Mountains Hearing Study, was a population-based survey which was carried out for five years and approximately 3000 participants completed questionnaires from which their Omega-3 intakes were calculated. The participants had a hearing test at the start of the survey, and another hearing test five years later with the results showing a relationship between hearing loss and Omega-3 intake, where it was indicated that the participants who ate oily fish twice a week or more had a 42% lower risk of hearing loss compared to those who ate fish once a week.
Another study, conducted in the Netherlands, measured Omega-3 levels in the blood and hearing thresholds. This study involved 720 people and spanned three years with the results determining that those with lower Omega-3 levels experienced the greatest hearing loss. The benefits of Omega-3 supplementation are well documented and here we recommend Life and Soul Omega-3 Daily Fish Oil, most specifically because it provides fatty acids derived from small fish, such as sardines and anchovies, so they are less likely to contain toxins, such as heavy metals and other toxins common to some fish liver oils, drops in price by 15%.

Moving on, some words about weight loss. I recognise that weight loss is a huge subject, I also recognise that rather a lot of people use weight loss drugs, which have become a central part of weight loss discussions, yet in all of this we each have a choice. Rather a lot of people choose weight loss drugs, and I understand that, but the choice is personal and our role is, and always has been, to offer natural solutions to weight loss, albeit weight loss has always been a subjective conversation.
Notwithstanding that, there are some interesting advances in natural supplementation and provided we consider these advances to be safe, I will be reporting about these later in the year, but in the interim I am linking Shabir’s article on Yacon Syrup, which offers a natural solution to weight loss. Essentially, Yacon Syrup is thought to play a multi-faceted role in achieving weight loss results which Shabir explains in his article, so as I leave you to read that article, I am throwing a 15% discount on Yacon Syrup, which comes in two sizes, also linked below, and this offer will run through to the end of January, provided we have sufficient stock. And that's the caveat.

I suppose the natural follow-through conversation should be about sugar, so let’s talk about sugar and I will begin by saying that one in every sixteen people in the UK are thought to be living with diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, in particular, has been growing at a high rate and is now one of the world’s most common long-term health conditions. The risk of other chronic conditions developing, such as obesity, is also heightened by the increased intake of added sugar from ultra-processed foods.
Furthermore, large-scale studies of sugar sweetened beverages have shown strong links to diseases, such as heart disease, which we have always known, but these studies are also showing a strong association to other diseases such as gout, arthritis, fatty liver disease, depression and dementia. I think the thing here is awareness and given that the government recommend limiting the intake of sugar to 30 grams of sugar per day, data from health officials shows that on average we are consuming three times that amount.
In raising awareness, Viridian Nutrition’s ‘One Week No Sugar Challenge’ contains a jar of Chromium & Cinnamon Complex and with Chromium helping to maintain blood glucose levels, Cinnamon, also known as ‘sweet wood’ is a studied plant extract. Cinnamon helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels, with research indicating that Chromium and Cinnamon help improve insulin sensitivity, helping the cells in the body to use glucose more effectively. With awareness raised, an invitation to take control of your cravings with this seven-day no sugar challenge.

Turning now to a rather common health concern, leaky gut syndrome is a poorly understood gastrointestinal concern, yet despite being quite a widespread concern, most sufferers are often unaware they have this condition. In basic terms, leaky gut syndrome is an intestinal problem in which the lining of the gut becomes permeable which can lead to numerous health issues.
The lining of the gut performs the important task of absorbing nutrients from food, but it also plays an important role in preventing toxins, bacteria, digested food and other foreign bodies from entering the bloodstream. As such the gut lining acts as a front line of defence to protect our bodies, but in leaky gut syndrome, this barrier is breached leading to bacteria and toxins being able to enter the bloodstream causing a host of problems which Shabir outlines in his article linked below.
Some of the most commonly experienced symptoms of leaky gut syndrome are bloating, gas, joint pain, tiredness and food sensitivities, so taking a look at the solution, we know that probiotics provide support for leaky gut syndrome and they work by supporting digestion, as well as reducing inflammation. They also strengthen the gut lining and support the microbiome responsible for removing toxins and compounds which can cause inflammation, and so Revive Probiotic Liquid.
Revive Probiotic Liquid contains several important soil-based probiotic strains, which are identical to the strains found in the human gut, but aside from recommending it for leaky gut syndrome and diverticular disease, it provides support to heal the gut, offering support for the digestive system and helps prevent and treat constipation.
Revive Probiotic is one of four products from Microbz, a range of probiotics which Shabir endorses and recommends, which speaks volumes because it takes rather a lot to get his pharmaceutical stamp of approval. There are four products in the range, each of which are lined below, and noting Shabir’s words in his article, it is inconceivable that most of us do not have some form of damage to our intestinal lining. With all that said, I am throwing a 20% discount across all four products in the range, for the interim.

Finally, when I was writing about healthy ageing at the top of this newsletter, I stopped to play a song. I do this all the time, but the song which I played was ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’. I was triggered as I was writing about the nonsense marketing and reporting on longevity, but that aside, maybe it is an excuse to put this on the playlist again, not that I really need an excuse. And for the record, I don’t want to live forever.

Wishing each of you a restful weekend.
