Pulsin Whey Protein Isolate is a high-quality, unflavoured whey protein powder, which is a great source of calcium and the perfect choice for those looking to increase their protein intake. Whey protein is also a complete protein, providing all the essential amino acids that the body can’t make itself.

Protein is required for the body to grow and repair itself, thus it is critical to ensure that the diet contains enough protein; otherwise, muscle strength and energy levels may be affected.

At 93% protein, this whey protein isolate powder is the ideal choice for those looking to increase muscle mass, for athletes, and for those seeking to prevent loss of muscle mass and strength. The low fat content of whey protein makes it an excellent choice for those on a weight-loss diet too. The high-quality, unflavored whey protein isolate is vegetarian, non-GM, and made using hormone-free milk from grass-fed cows. Pulsin whey protein also contains no fillers, sugars, or sweeteners.

Our In-House pharmacist, Shabir Daya has written an article about whey protein:

Directions: Mix one heaped dessertspoon (10g) with water or milk. We recommend 1-3 portions per day, depending on your protein requirements. Take at any time in the day to boost your total protein intake.  A 10g serving (1 heaped dessertspoon) provides 9.3g of protein. Use within 6 months of opening

For allergens, see ingredients in bold. Contains MILK and is produced in a factory that handles nuts and peanuts. May contain SOYA. Do not take if pregnant or breast feeding. To be stored in a cool dry place and protected from light. Store in a cool, dry place

Whey Protein Isolate Powder (Milk), Sunflower Lechithin.

What is Whey Protein?
Whey protein is the most common and popular type of protein used in the sports nutrition industry. Whey protein can help you build muscle, recover after a workout, and also help you lose weight. Whey protein is the most common and popular type of protein used in the sports nutrition industry. Whey protein can help you grow muscle, recuperate after a workout, and lose weight. Whey protein provides multiple benefits, especially when used at the right time and dosage.

What is whey protein isolate?
Whey protein isolate goes through some extra processing steps; this means that more of the fats and lactose (carbs) have been removed from the whey, so the resulting whey isolate has a higher protein content and a lower fat, carb, and calorie content than regular whey concentrate.

Is Pulsin Protein Powder gluten-free?
Yes, all Pulsin powders undergo gluten testing and contain less than 20 ppm of gluten, which is the EU definition of gluten-free, and Pulsin do not handle any gluten on site.

Where does Pulsin Whey Isolate Protein originate from?
Pulsin Whey Isolate Protein Powder is made from cow’s milk produced by UK grass-fed herds.

Can I mix the protein powder with water?
Yes, the protein powder can be mixed with water; however, for more of an indulgent taste, try mixing it with your favourite milk.

The serving suggestion is only 10g; can I have more if I would like more protein?
Yes, the serving suggestion is the minimum serving rather than the optimum. You may have more powder if you would like; however, we recommend that you gradually increase the volume. Different consumers’ digestion systems can react slightly differently to increasing volumes. Pulsin also recommends that you do not exceed 40g of powder in one serving (generally, your body can only utilise a maximum of 40g in one sitting). Please also bear in mind that the recommended protein intake in the UK for women is 45g and for men 55g. However, this can vary according to your height, muscle mass, and gender (your lifestyle and activity levels).

Can the Whey Isolate Protein powder be cooked?
Pulsin powders can be gently heated (for example, in a sauce), but they should not be boiled or roasted. Do not heat the whey protein above 60 degrees for any length of time; this would denature the protein and give it a “cheesy” flavour. Although denaturing due to heating the proteins should not affect the nutritional profile, it may affect the enzymatic effects and flavour.

As an athlete, can I overdose on the protein powders?
Standard doses do exist according to activity level and body composition. We recommend that protein consumption should not exceed 3 g/kg of lean body mass per day. However, recent evidence has seen an effect of 4.4 g/kg per day, with no negative effects shown. We would advise that this protein comes from a wide range of food sources, including our protein products.

Is Pulsin protein powder tested for doping?
None of Pulsin products have been tested by HFL in line with anti-doping regulations but they do not believe that any of their products would cause any issues relating to doping, as there are no pharmaceutical drugs in our factory!

Is Pulsin Whey Protein cold-pressed?
The term ‘cold pressed’ only refers to powders that are raw; the whey protein powders are heat treated as part of the filtration process, so therefore cannot be described as cold pressed. Pulsin Whey Protein Powders are, however, cold-processed. The microfiltration of our whey powder is done at low temperatures—around or below 20 degrees Celsius. There is a short, 75-degree Celsius pasteurisation phase, although this process has been developed in order to not denature the protein. Testing shows that beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactalbumin (the main two proteins in whey) and many other of the smaller protein fractions are not denatured.

Does Pulsin whey protein powder contain emulsifiers and stabilisers?
The whey protein isolate does contain soy lecithin, which acts as both a stabiliser (which means that you don’t have loads of froth on the surface of the protein) and an emulsifier (so it mixes nicely and you don’t get all the fat rising to the surface).

I have found myself bloated after using whey protein powders. Is this down to the lactose?
It could be the lactose or potentially, it could actually be the milk proteins, which some people are allergic to. If you are having a bad reaction, we would recommend moving to a dairy-free protein, such as PEA.

Do pulsin and whey protein powders contain growth hormones?
Fortunately, these hormones are banned in the EU and are therefore not present in the pulsin whey protein.

Is Pulsin Whey Protein Powder undenatured and does it have any free-form amino acids?
All Pulsin Whey Protein Powders are undenatured and do not contain ‘free’ amino acids; all of the amino acids are present as protein molecules. Only “hydrolyzed” whey protein contains free amino acids.
