Directions for treatment of feline cystitis / canine UTIs: Add one dose of the Waterfall D-Mannose Pet to a treat or sprinkle it over food every 3 hours. D-Mannose has a slightly sweet taste, and when mixed with a treat or pet food, it has a neutral taste that wouldn’t be noticed by most cats and dogs. Alternatively, work out the amount of water your cat or dog consumes, and the number of doses required for this time frame.
Directions for maintenance / avoiding recurrent episodes: Add one dose of the Waterfall D-Mannose Pet to a treat or sprinkled over food daily or if required increase to morning and night. Alternatively, add one dose to your pet’s daily water supply.
Other ways to administer D-mannose for cats and dogs: Waterfall D-Mannose can be administered by mixing it with a small amount of water and using a veterinary feeding syringe to feed a cat or dog. Please only consider this option if it doesn’t cause additional stress for your cat or dog.

How much d-mannose powder to give to a dog / cat?
As an approximate guideline, a minimum dose of 0.5g of powder is sprinkled on food or mixed with drinking water. Increase dosage based on weight. For every 4kg, increase the dose by 0.5g. For example, a large dog of 16kg would need the maximum dose of 2g of powder. In contrast, a small cat weighing 4kg would need less at around 0.5g.

Is D-Mannose safe for dogs / cats?
Yes, D-Mannose is a natural supplement found naturally in some fruits and vegetables in small quantities. D-Mannose is similar to sugar but not metabolised, meaning there is no risk of increasing sugar intake for cats or dogs. Some breeds of dogs and cats can experience looser bowel movements on rare occasions. If this occurs, reduce the dose or stop using the product for a couple of days. Loose bowel movements tend to occur for cats or dogs sensitive to dietary changes. If you have any concerns, always speak to a veterinary professional.
Waterfall D-Mannose Pet - Treatment and Prevention. For urgent support, a small to heaped teaspoonful (approx. 1-3g) every 2-3 hours with water or sprinkled over food. Please consider weight - a smaller pet may need only a quarter to half a teaspoon. Continue during the night until problems resolve, and then reduce slowly. For prevention, use a little daily.

The dose for your cat will depend on their size. For a medium-sized adult cat (6-10kg), 0.5gm to 1gm of powder should suffice. For smaller animals reduce the dose accordingly (for example, if you have a kitten which is around half the size of an average adult cat, reduce the dose by half)
How to use D-Mannose for Guinea Pigs /Rabbits?
For an average sized, adult Guinea pig or rabbit one dose will be about a quarter of a teaspoon powder. For smaller animals reduce the dose accordingly (for example, if you have a dwarf rabbit which is around half the size of an average rabbit, reduce the dose by half).
How to use D-Mannose for Horses?
For an average sized, adult horse (14-16 hands) one dose will be approx. 5gms of powder. For smaller animals reduce the dose accordingly (for example, if you have a foal that it is approximately half the size of an adult horse, give them half the dose).
How to use D-Mannose for other pets?
Waterfall D-Mannose Pet can be used for other household pets not listed above. Dosage roughly based on 1g per 10kg of the overall weight of the animal.
