Comvita Manuka Honey Elixir With Propolis is a soothing elixir designed to provide temporary relief from the symptoms of coughs, colds, flu and throat infections. Comvita Propolis Herbal Elixir contains UMF® 10+ Manuka honey, Propolis and Zinc to support the immune system.
Manuka honey has traditionally been valued for its healthy effects based on traditional use only. Now science has helped explain the reason for these long-held beliefs, with New Zealand Manuka Honey gaining worldwide recognition for its unique properties.
Propolis contains high levels of active bioflavonoids, which have well know antioxidant properties. Propolis comes from natural resin and sap, part of the defence system of trees. Honey bees collect these materials, add special substances of their own, and turn them into propolis, which they use to protect the hive.

Comvita founders, Claude Stratford and Alan Bougen, imagined people living healthy lives. Bees were their inspiration and honey their medicine. Claude’s fascination with bees started early. Manuka Honey Explained
Manuka honey is a type of honey native to New Zealand, harvested by bees from the nectar of the indigenous manuka shrub, Leptospermum scoparium. The manuka shrub grows wild in New Zealand’s most remote areas and flowers for just 2-6 weeks each year. The manuka shrub’s short flowering season means it takes immense skill, planning and resources to harvest manuka honey, which is why one should never take a single, precious drop of manuka for granted.
What Does Manuka Honey Taste Like?
Manuka honey has a distinctive sweet taste; like a good wine, it grows in flavour and potency and darkens over time. Pure manuka honey has a more intense flavour and darker colour - these are also indicators that your honey contains more beneficial compounds.
