Azelaic Acid 10% Serum by DoSe is a skin-friendly chemical exfoliant formulated for blemish-prone skin and skin prone to redness. Azelaic Acid displays antibacterial properties which helps to inhibit growth of bacteria helping to target signs of congestion for a brighter, clearer complexion.

Azelaic Acid Serum 10% is a great treatment for blemishes and for the prevention of blemish marks and dark spots as well as displaying powerful anti-inflammatory properties to help calm and soothe skin prone to redness. Unlike azelaic acid creams, Azelaic Acid Serum works quickly and effectively to also deep cleanse pores which help with regular use as a preventative serum for spots and acne.

Although both Azelaic acid and Retinol display exfoliating properties, azelaic acid produces far greater exfoliation, and deep cleans pores, whereas Retinol's main role is to enhance cell turnover to reveal healthy, fresh skin.

What is Azelaic Acid?
Azelaic acid is a mild acid that can be found in grains such as barley, wheat, and rye. It is a keratolytic agent, which means that it softens keratin and prevents the buildup of keratinocytes, which are skin cells, so that they do not build up and block pores. Azelaic acid has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This multi-tasker boosts skin turnover to unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and diminish discoloration, possibly making it effective in treating rosacea, skin pigmentation, and acne.

What are the benefits of Azelaic Acid?
10% Azelaic Acid has many benefits. We recommend using Azelaic Acid to help calm breakouts, unclog pores, and control oil production. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can calm redness and irritation associated with rosacea. Azelaic Acid can also help fade post-inflammatory forms of skin discoloration and blemish marks.

When and how should I use Azelaic Acid?
Use azelaic acid in the morning and/or evening. Azelaic Acid is water-based and should be applied directly after cleansing or alongside other water-based products and before any oils or moisturisers. Azelaic can be applied to the whole face, or you can simply use it to target specific areas. Azelaic acid may cause slight dryness, redness, and itching. Should this occur, use it once or twice a week, gradually increasing to daily usage.

Can Azelaic Acid be used on all skin types?
Azelaic Acid is generally considered suitable for all skin types but we always recommended performing a patch test before using it on your face, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Can Azelaic Acid be used with other skincare products?
We do not recommend using azelaic acid with AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids), BHAs (beta-hydroxy acids), or retinols since the combination can increase skin sensitivity, so alternate and use on different days.

Can Alpha Arbutin and Kojic Acid Serum be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Whilst generally recommended safe to use during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding it is always advisable to seek medical advice from your healthcare professional before introducing any new products into your skincare regime.

The colour of my serum is different to my previous one. Is this normal?
Due to the high percentage of natural extracts, this serum is naturally scented and colour may vary.

What is an active ingredient and what does it mean?
An "active ingredient" refers to the specific component or substance within a product that provides a therapeutic or beneficial effect on the skin. Active ingredients are typically responsible for targeting and addressing specific skin concerns.

How can I maximise the longevity and effectiveness of my serum?Keep away from direct sunlight, avoid extreme temperatures, seal the container properly to minimise air exposure and avoid moisture and humidity and pay attention to the period after opening symbol. Layering products in the correct order, such as applying serums before moisturisers, can optimise their absorption and effectiveness.

Do I need to wear an SPF while using Azelaic Acid 10% Serum?
It is recommended to always apply SPF as the last step in your skincare routine.

What is the pH of Azelaic Acid 10% Serum?
pH 5.2-5.7

Does DoSe by VH replace Garden of Wisdom?
DoSe by VH is a natural evolution of Garden of Wisdom and we are confident that the DoSe by VH products will exceed your expectations, delivering a heightened level of quality and efficacy.  The DoSe serums and oils have been meticulously formulated, and in some cases reformulated by Shabir Daya MRPharmS, our co-founder who originally formulated GOW.  While some formulations share the same INCI, we searched for and incorporated the optimal iterations of each, guaranteeing an enhanced quality.  Not all ingredients are created equally and developments in formulations can change.  It gave us the opportunity to better our offer for our customers who have previously loved GOW.  We listened to the feedback from our customers regarding GOW and the bottles are now glass, which means they are also waterproof for the bathroom.  We believe in constant improvement and staying at the forefront of skincare innovation.

Where is DoSe manufactured?
All DoSe by VH skincare products are manufactured and filled in the UK.

Can I recycle my DoSe packaging?
We are committed to sustainability. Our DoSe skincare range packaging is designed to be eco-friendly and recyclable. The cardboard box, insert and glass container can be easily recycled. However, please note that the pump is not recyclable. We encourage you to properly dispose of it according to local waste management guidelines.
