L-Phenylalanine is an amino acid which is available in three different forms, designated L-, D-, and DL-. The L-form is the most common type and natural type, and is the form the body can use to incorporate into proteins.
L-Phenylalanine may be of benefit in alleviating the symptoms of premenstrual tension (PMT) and various types of chronic pain. Do not use l-phenylalanine if you are diabetic, have high blood pressure, or suffer from anxiety attacks. L-Phenylalanine is also beneficial for encouraging weight loss by curbing appetite and may also be beneficial for anxiety. 

L-Phenylalanine dosage range: 500-2000 mg per day.
