Many varieties of mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. Reishi Shiitake Maitake Mushroom Extract is a combination of Japanese mushrooms. This special formula contains 3 types of mushrooms from powder and powdered extract.
The mushrooms included are:
- Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a type of fungus native to Asia, including China, Korea and Japan. Traditional Chinese medicine has used this mushroom for thousands of years due to them containing phytochemicals such as beta-glucans, plant sterols, polysaccharides and triterpenes.
- Shiitake (Lentinus edodes) is a popular food in Asia where it originates from. They are one of the most cultivated varieties of mushroom.
- Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a mushroom native to the mountains of Japan. It can be translated from Japanese into dancing mushroom'. Similar as Reishi mushroom, they are a source of beta-glucans and polysaccharides.
