Are Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours going to damage my hair?
Naturtint is not only free from ammonia and resorcinol free but is also enriched with natural and organic plant and seed oils and extracts, to gently care for your hair and scalp so with the correct use, Naturtint is very gentle on the hair. Many customers who have been colouring their hair for some time comment on the improvement of their hair condition after trying Naturtint for the first time.

Can I lighten my hair with Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours?
Although it is hard to lighten very dark shades, it is possible to lighten most natural colours by up to 2 shades. For example, if your natural colour is 3N it would be possible to lighten to a 5N. Colour can’t lift colour however, so if your hair has been coloured previously you will have to gradually lighten the hair with each root application.

How long does it take to colour my hair with Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours?
Once you have blended the Colourant and Developer and applied to your hair, it takes between 20 and 40 minutes to develop. Don’t forget to allow time for your 48 hours

Will Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours really cover grey?
Yes! Naturtint Permanent and Root Retouch Creme Hair Colours offer complete grey coverage from the very first application. If your grey is particularly stubborn and resistant to colour, you may need to allow the colour to develop for the full 40 minutes in order to achieve complete grey coverage. For the best results when colouring grey hair choose a Naturtint Permanent colour from the Natural (N) shades.

How often can I colour my hair with Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours?
To avoid over processing the hair, we recommend you colour your hair no more frequently than every 6-8 weeks with the Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours, which is usually when the root regrowth is visible and requires colouring. If you find your colour is fading during this time, make sure you are using hair care products for coloured and consider how you are applying the colour – are there any styling products on the hair that may be causing a barrier to the colour? Are you doing a full head colour with every application? If so, you are likely to be over processing the hair, leaving it weak and porous which will cause colour to quickly fade.

Can Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours be used on facial hair or other parts of the body?
No. Sadly neither the Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours should be used to colour any hair other than that on the scalp. The skin on our face is much more sensitive than the scalp so the products must not be used to colour eyebrows, eyelashes, beards or moustaches, and must not be used on other parts of the body.

I’m only using a small amount of Naturtint Permanent Hair Colour to touch up my roots, can I save for next time?
As long as the colourant and developer haven’t been mixed and you returned the lids immediately after opening, you can save them for your next application. Just store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. DO NOT try to save anything that has been mixed together.

Do I apply colours to wet or dry hair?
The Naturtint Permanent Hair Colour are all applied to clean, dry hair.

How can I avoid staining my skin when I colour my hair?
Always use the gloves provided and keep them on during the whole colouring process. If your hairline is susceptible to staining (often if the skin is very pale or dry it can stain a little more easily) you can carefully apply a small amount of barrier cream before colouring – take care not to get any on the hair as it could prevent the colour developing. If staining does occur, before rinsing the colour from the hair, used your gloved fingertips to emulsify the colour on the stained area, using a little amount of water if necessary. This should lift the colour off the skin before you then rinse and shampoo the hair.

Can I use Naturtint permanent Hair Colours if I’m pregnant?
Many ladies continue to dye their hair during pregnancy and it is a very personal decision to make. Naturtint is free from a number of chemicals commonly found in hair colours, including ammonia, resorcinol and parabens, but do still have to include essential chemical ingredients like PPD or PTD and Hydrogen Peroxide. You should seek advice from your Doctor or Midwife first and you should carry out a skin sensitivity test 48 hours before each use.

I’m undergoing Chemotherapy, can I use Naturtint Permanent Hair Colours?
We do not recommend using this during Chemotherapy. Some months after chemotherapy treatment is completed, many customers use this but we strongly recommend that the customer seeks medical approval as to suitability.

Is the Naturtint range tested on animals and is it environmentally friendly?
