MacuGuard Ocular Support with Saffron

60-Softgels

£24.00

Life Extension MacuGuard® Ocular Support with Saffron provides lutein, trans-zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin, three important nutrients that protect the delicate photoreceptor cells in the retina's macula from light damage.

As we age, maintaining healthy vision and supporting overall eye health becomes increasingly important. MacuGuard® is a premium eye supplement designed to provide comprehensive support for healthy eyes in a single softgel. It contains essential carotenoids, including lutein, trans-zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin and alpha-carotene, which contribute to the maintenance of normal vision and may help support macular pigment density, an important factor in maintaining clear and healthy eyesight. These carotenoids are naturally present in the macula but can be difficult to obtain from the diet alone, particularly as we get older.

MacuGuard® also includes saffron, a natural spice derived from the stigma of the Crocus sativus flower, traditionally valued for its nutritional properties, which has been studied for its potential to support aspects of normal visual function and healthy ageing of the eyes.

Benefits of Life Extension eye supplement:

  • Provides complete nutritional support for the eyes in a single softgel
  • Contains lutein, trans-zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin, and phospholipid compounds
  • Supports absorption and concentration of lutein, an essential carotenoid for macular pigment density
  • Contains the optimal dose of saffron

Directions: As a food supplement, take one softgel daily with or without food, or as directed by your healthcare profestional.

What is MacuGuard® and how does it support eye health?
MacuGuard® is a nutritional eye supplement designed to provide comprehensive support for maintaining healthy vision, especially as we age. It combines essential carotenoids, such as lutein, trans-zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin plus saffron in a convenient softgel, supporting the macular pigment and protecting the eyes from blue and ultraviolet light.

What are the key ingredients in MacuGuard®?
The key ingredients in MacuGuard® include lutein, which supports macular pigment density and overall eye health; trans-zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin, which are important carotenoids that are difficult to obtain from diet alone; alpha-carotene, which supports macular pigment density and visual function; saffron, which has been shown to improve vision and support retinal health; and phospholipid compounds, which enhance absorption and concentration of nutrients in the eyes.

How can MacuGuard® help with age-related macular degeneration (AMD)?
MacuGuard® contains a combination of carotenoids and saffron that may support the prevention of age-related macular degeneration. The nutrients in this formula help maintain macular pigment density, protect photoreceptor cells, and reduce oxidative stress in the retina.

    How should I take MacuGuard®?
As a food supplement, take one softgel daily, with or without food, or follow the advice of your healthcare professional.

Who can benefit from taking MacuGuard®?
MacuGuard® is suitable for adults concerned with maintaining eye health, particularly those at risk of age-related changes in vision.

Are there any scientific studies supporting saffron for vision?
Yes. Clinical studies indicate that saffron supplementation can improve visual acuity. Participants in these studies were able to see an average of two additional lines on the Snellen eye chart, a standard test used by UK opticians and ophthalmologists. One study found that daily supplementation with 30 mg of saffron for six months resulted in significant improvement in retinal function in patients with AMD.
