What is Cetaphil?
Cetaphil is a line of skincare products specifically designed and clinically proven to help people take care of their sensitive skin. Cetaphil believes your skin health is what leads to beautiful, glowing skin, and so we develop all of our products with your skin’s health first and foremost in mind.
What Makes Cetaphil Different?
The Cetaphil team is dedicated to skin health, not superficial fixes. Their work is based in science and research, and to make sure that their products truly take care of your skin, they work closely with dermatologists to develop their cleansers, moisturisers, toners and eye gels. Cetaphil products are suited to even the most sensitive skin, which is why dermatologists have recommended us and trusted us for over 70 years.
Who can use Cetaphil?
Cetaphil products are designed to be gentle and effective on even the most sensitive skin. This means that whether you have generally normal skin, acne-prone or eczema-prone, Cetaphil respects your skin and can provide the cleansing, moisturising and protection against dryness that your skin needs.
Why is Cetaphil cleanser suited to sensitive skin?
Across its different products, Cetaphil uses formulas that reinforce the skin’s natural protective barrier. Cetaphil cleanser was designed to have a pH level that respects the skin’s acid-alkaline balance. Cetaphil make sure to only use high quality ingredients, and in addition, many of their formulations are fragrance-free and hypoallergenic/ non-irritant, making Cetaphil ideal for daily use even on sensitive skin.
How are the alcohols contained in Cetaphil products different from those found in other products that tend to irritate the skin?
Alcohols can be skin irritants, but only the “drying” alcohols (the most common ones are ethyl alcohol and isopropyl or rubbing alcohol). Cetaphil products contain none of these irritating or drying alcohols. The alcohols in Cetaphil are much larger molecules than the typical “drying” alcohols. Thus, the ingredients they use, such as cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol, tend to trap water and are moisturising – not drying. These ingredients are part of the reason why Cetaphil is such a gentle cleanser.
Do Cetaphil products expire?
Cetaphil products in the UK include a standard expiry indicator shown on their packaging, which indicates how many months you have to use it once it has been opened.
Is Cetaphil packaging recyclable?
Please see recycling symbols and information provided on the packaging. Ensure to remove the pump or cap.
Are the ingredients used in Cetaphil safe?
Cetaphil products are fully compliant with the current local market safety regulations for cosmetic products. Products have been tested under dermatological supervision to be non-irritating, non-sensitising and suitable for their intended uses.
