Omega 3 Essential Fats

Fatty acids are the basic building blocks of all fats and oils. Some can be made by the body, while others cannot. The ones the body cannot make, and must therefore be obtained through the diet, are known as Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's). Scientists have now shown how these are essential to a child's development and growth.

Recent research is suggesting that Omega-3 EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) plays a central role in the communication between cells in the brain, making it crucial from early childhood and throughout life. It is however important to note that DHA is a structural fatty acid known to be important for a baby’s healthy development and through very early childhood, and helps form the building blocks in the baby’s brain and eyes.
