Higher Nature Betaine HCL is a stomach acid supplement to aid digestion, prevent bloating, gas, acid reflux and heartburn.
Proteins such as cheese, beans, steaks and other meats can be hard to digest. The stomach makes hydrochloric acid to help us digest protein, but when we are rushing or as we grow older, a Betaine HCl supplement taken with meals may be of value. Betaine HCL provides a natural source to take with meals or just before a meal when appropriate.
The increase in hydrochloric acid helps to break down hard to digest protein rich foods such as meat and pulses which prevents the stagnation of these foods that may result in constipation and other digestive problems including reflux and hyperacidity . Incomplete digestion is also linked to non specific allergies.
A hydrochloric acid supplement, betaine hydrochloride is the acidic form of Tri-Methyl Glycine (TMG).
Benefits of Betaine HCL for the stomach:

- Levels of stomach acid naturally decline with age or with busy lifestyles
